Fred Solomon (pictured) has been appointed vice-president global procurement and supplier quality engineering (SQE) at American Axle & Manufacturing (AAM), ending a 32-year association with Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) and predecessor companies.
Solomon was most recently director, purchasing and supplier quality at Mopar, FCA’s long-established parts manufacturer and supplier.
Prior to that, he was FCA’s director, global powertrain purchasing and the US OEM’s director, global standardisation and benchmarking.
In his 32 years at FCA and predecessor companies, Solomon held positions of increasing responsibility in the manufacturing, supply chain, international, product development and purchasing fields, said AAM.
AAM, based in Detroit, designs, engineers and manufactures driveline, metal forming and casting technologies at nearly 90 plants in 17 countries.
