Logistics provider Kuehne + Nagel has officially opened a new North American facility in Atlanta, Georgia that includes a secure area for the storage of valuable cargo and special equipment including vehicles and aircraft engines.

“For over 25 years, Atlanta has been Kuehne + Nagel’s regional headquarters for the Southeast and we are extremely proud of our new operation,” said John Hextall, president and CEO of Kuehne + Nagel North America. “The purpose-built 236,000-square-foot office and logistics centre is part of our commitment to provide top-class service and the most advanced logistics solutions.”

The company said it could reach 80% of US consumers in two hours by air or two days by truckload from the facility, adding that the building enhanced its air, sea, road and rail logistics, as well as warehouse and distribution services. Those services include cross docking, picking/packing, quality checking, bonded warehousing, import/export (de)consolidation services, customs brokerage, trade compliance and TSA security screening.
