At the event’s kick-off, Automotive Logistics’ editor-in-chief Christopher Ludwig discusses Mexico’s automotive supply chain and it’s transformation and growth in recent years.

The country’s logistics sector is experiencing growing localisation and even more investment, with exports from major OEMs growing to the US and Europe, and is also seeing more imports from Asia that are transforming the market.

The industry is also in the midst of transformation in its shift towards electrification, with major OEMs like GM and Ford already building EVs, and BMW, Volkswagen and Audi set to roll out EVs in the country shortly.

However, with this growth comes more challenges, such as capacity shortages and bottlenecks, issues at the US Mexico border, customs system failures and natural disasters that are all affecting the supply chain.

Over the course of the conference, we hear from industry leaders on the challenges that the sector is facing, and the innovative solutions employed to mitigate them.
