Rhenus Logistics, part of Germany’s Rhenus Group, has announced a partnership with Milsped, a Balkan logistics operator.

Rhenus will be expanding its European operations further with the latest announcement, which follows last week’s partnership deal with Transdanubia, an Austrian logistics company. A spokesperson for Rhenus told Automotive Logistics, “Rhenus has had a fantastic year so far and has expanded with a number of different partnerships and contracts, along with wider expansion globally, with Rhenus UK taking advantage of a number of new global routes.”

Milsped delivers customised logistics and value-added services across the Balkan region, and serves the automotive industry among other sectors. Based in Serbia, the company handles more than 32,000 shipments per year, and currently operates regular freight-forwarded services from its hub in Belgrade, to locations in countries including Bosnia, Montenegro, Macedonia, and Albania.

“We see Southeast Europe as one with rich potential,” said Gary Dodsworth, operations director at Rhenus UK. “The Rhenus Group believes that strength in unity will help to develop this key emerging European economy. Plus, Rhenus Germany and Rhenus Spain will also officially work with Milsped from November 1st.”

Rhenus Logistics’ business encompasses rail, road, air and sea and was established more than 75 years ago.
