ALSC Mexico 2024: Drinks reception and insights shared on the future of nearshoring, trade and growth

Last night, Automotive Logistics & Supply Chain Mexico 2024 welcomed over 450 automotive leaders at the Marquis Reforma Hotel in Mexico City. Automotive Logistics’ chief content officer, Christopher Ludwig, took a moment away from the bustling Welcome Drinks Reception to give us a sneak peek into what’s in store over the next few days.

Key topics on the agenda include Mexico’s role as a nearshoring hub, strategies to expand production capacity amid soaring demand, and the evolving logistics landscape, from port developments to trade compliance. With new administrations in both Mexico and the US, the industry is bracing for possible shifts in trade policy that could impact tariffs, border operations, and the future of the USMCA trade agreement.

Reflecting on the conference’s mission, Ludwig shared, ”We’re facing a record year in production and investment, but also complex questions about the future—especially around trade policy, cross-border changes, and the impact of new administrations in both Mexico and the US.”

Automotive Logistics & Supply Chain Mexico 2024 took place on November 12-14 at the Marquis Reforma Hotel, Mexico City.

The event will return to Mexico City next year, from November 11-13, 2025.
