Automotive Logistics and Supply Chain Digital Strategies North America 2025 – Highlights
On the first day of Automotive Logistics & Supply Chain Digital Strategies North America 2024, automotive logistics experts talked on stage and in break-out groups about connecting data and scaling information to become more predictive in our supply chains and to build real resiliency.
We heard from Gerardo de la Torre, regional senior director, Supply Chain Management (SCM), USA & Mexico, Nissan Group of North America about how the carmaker is approaching end-to-end transformation of its systems and also its people, skills and organisation, with a new cyber security department, a focus on compliance and being able to trace parts to account for new regulations. The digital tools Nissan is using also allows the oem to build data that enables deeper visibility and more productivity.
There were also discussions about risk sensing and using data models to understand what is happening within networks and, as De la Torre put it, to “widen the hourglass” so there is more time to react and better anticipate what is coming.
The audience, made up of logistics specialists, supply chain management, and also experts in data analytics, AI specialists and tech providers, also gained valuable insights from leaders at Google Cloud, Honda, Toyota North America, NTG Supply Chain Solutions, and American Axle & Manufacturing.
