Battery electric vehicles represent a relatively small but markedly growing share of the North America car market today, with investment ramping up across the supply chain from major OEMs like Ford and General Motors. Start-up EV makers, such as Lucid Motors, are also gearing up to launch new vehicles for domestic distribution and export. While most electric vehicles can move through existing logistics modes and channels, the products present a number of key challenges for vehicle logistics, including heavier weights, specific charging and safety requirements.
In this session, vehicle logistics experts from Lucid, Glovis America and the America Trucking Association outline the specific impacts on and considerations for vehicle logistics, including EV weight and load factors, transport regulations on road, rail and ocean, charging requirements and more.
