Delivering electric vehicles in America: charging ahead with a heavy load

EV sales are on the rise in the US, and with that new logistics considerations for vehicle weight, charging infrastructure and services. Experts from Lucid, Glovis and the American Trucking Association discuss how best to prepare.

Battery electric vehicles represent a relatively small but markedly growing share of the North America car market today, with investment ramping up across the supply chain from major OEMs like Ford and General Motors. Start-up EV makers, such as Lucid Motors, are also gearing up to launch new vehicles for domestic distribution and export. While most electric vehicles can move through existing logistics modes and channels, the products present a number of key challenges for vehicle logistics, including heavier weights, specific charging and safety requirements.
