Working together to shape sustainable EV supply chains – ALSC Ideas Lab wrap-up

As the North American automotive supply chain prepares to ramp up production of lithium-ion batteries and electric vehicles, stakeholders must work together carefully to establish both efficient and sustainable processes in areas of transport, logistics, supply and packaging. Whilst automotive manufacturers recognise the importance of this, the complexities of the EV supply chain, along with low volume production, mean that it is not always easy.

In this video, Chep’s Sean Maguire, who leads the packaging and returnable container specialist’s EV strategy, shares insights held during a special Ideas Lab on electric vehicle supply chain sustainability at the recent Automotive Logistics and Supply Chain Global Live conference in Detroit. He discusses the challenges that the industry faces in ramping up EV production, managing varying cycle times and the importance of creating forums and dialogues know between OEMs, battery manufacturers, logistics and equipment providers – including through Automotive Logistics.
