US-based finished vehicle carrier and brokerage firm, Montway Auto Transport, has launched a digital platform to provide better visibility of new and used vehicle movements in the outbound supply chain for both shippers and carriers.

The Montway Automation Portal (MAP), will improve efficiency and reduce costs, according to the company, as well as enable better inventory management.

“The challenges keep mounting for dealerships, auctions, rental car companies and other businesses that rely on vehicle movements, and our business customers want innovations to help them gain a competitive advantage,” said Mike Trudeau, executive vice-president of business development at Montway Auto Transport. “The Montway Automation Portal provides the transparency they need to better manage inventories and increase speed to consumers.”

The digital platform is built on technology that uses market-based transport pricing and a streamlined transport management system (TMS), said the company. Users can enter a vehicle identification number (VIN) or multiple VINs into the portal to receive pricing and book orders. According to Montway, those users can also track units in real-time to complete delivery via a user-friendly dashboard.

Additionally, MAP offers public tracking links that users can share with end customers, on-demand pricing and a centralised location for storing digital records, such as proof of delivery documents, bill of ladings, gate passes and photos.

“Digitisation is a proven way to transform businesses and auto transport is no exception,” said Kaye Ceille, president of the Business Solutions Group at Montway Auto Transport. “MAP was designed to modernise and optimise auto transport from creating orders to providing tracking of units through to delivery.”

Last month Montway celebrated its 15-year anniversary and reported a 82% year-over-year growth to date. Since the company’s founding, it has served over 800,000 customers, including more than 185,000 in 2021 and delivered nearly 1m vehicles.
