Factory closures extended in China as drought continues

Factories in China’s Sichuan province, including those run by Toyota and Foxconn, have been ordered to close amidst electricity shortages

Temperatures in Sichuan province in China reached a high of 40°C in August and to maintain the residential supply of electricity, factories in 19 out of 21 cities in the province have been ordered to close for six days, extended to nine, disrupting the supply of semiconductors, lithium and automotive parts.
