Chep has promoted Christophe Campe as its head of automotive for Europe and North America. Campe brings more than 30 years experience at Chep to the new role.
Packaging provider Chep has appointed Christophe Campe as its head of automotive for Europe and North America. Campe takes over from Murray Gilder, who has moved to become country general manager for the UK and Ireland.
Campe joined Chep in 1993 and has held a number of senior roles across Europe since then. He was most recently senior vice-president for European supply chain, a role he moved to in 2018. Prior to that he was country general manager for Benelux and Germany, as well as finance director for Germany, the Nordics and Eastern Europe.
“Ensuring customer satisfaction and identifying new commercial opportunities, while accelerating sustainable volume growth, will be key moving forward,” said Helen Lane, CEO of Chep Europe. “I am delighted to have the acumen and experience of Christophe at the helm of Chep Automotive.”
Lane took over as CEO of Europe at Chep in November last year.
Campe said that electrification, autonomous driving, and connected and shared mobility are reshaping automotive supply networks. “Original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and suppliers are seeking packaging solutions to act as a lever for greater agility, resilience, and sustainability,” he said. “Building partnerships along the network is critical to achieving these goals. After more than 30 years with Chep, I’m truly excited to be working with a new dynamic and experienced team to further adapt and deliver our unique ‘share and reuse’ model to the needs of an evolving industry.”
