The new facility in Ostrava, Czech Republic spans across more than 120,000m2

Located within Ostrava Airport Multimodal Park, the facility spans more than 120,000m2 of warehouse space. DP World will provide an integrated solution for BMW Group including all inbound, storage and outbound logistics.

DP World has said that the strategic location of the warehouse, at the heart of Central Europe’s logistics corridor, will maximise operational efficiency and reliability.

The opening of the new site is set to create up to 750 new jobs in the region. It will be DP World’s newest automotive centre in Central Europe, and its first in the Czech Republic.

“At DP World we firmly believe in the strength and potential of the European automotive industry, and this significant investment in Ostrava reaffirms our commitment," said Tobias Fenzl, global account director at DP World. "The new site extends our longstanding partnership with BMW Group and underlines the quality of our global logistics solutions.”

Robert Sgariboldi, country manager for the Czech Republic at DP World, added: “This investment is a huge vote of confidence in the Czech logistics market. From contract logistics to freight forwarding, DP World is building an industry-leading logistics offering. This project... represents a key milestone for DP World in Czechia and is a further statement of our capabilities in the region.”

This is not the first time BMW Group has worked with DP World. It follows the opening of a new BMW Group manufacturing plant in Debrecen, Hungary, where DP World currently delivers integrated logistics operations.
