Stellantis announces temporary layoffs in North America following US tariffs

Following the enforcement of 25% US tariffs Stellantis is pausing production at plants in Canada and Mexico and laying off 900 staff at plants in the US for the short-term.

Antonio Filosa, chief operations officer Stellantis, told staff on April 3 the carmaker was pausing production at some of its Canadian and Mexican assembly plants from April 7 and there would be consequent downtime at stamping, transmission and casting plants in the US
