09.00 – 10.15 Ι SESSION 1: Powering up the Supply Chain: implications of an EV world

Central and Eastern Europe’s automotive logistics sector is evolving at a rapid pace on the strength of growing investment in high-tech manufacturing and R&D from some of the world’s biggest vehicle-makers.

OEMs are investing billions of euros to develop, produce and distribute electric and alternative-powered vehicles, and they need the supply chain to be ready. New energy mobility is set to transform the architecture, geography and requirements of the European and global automotive supply chain, from production through to customer services. As the automotive sector continues to grow in importance both in Hungary and in other parts of Central and Eastern Europe, spurred on by EV growth, it is vital that automotive logistics leaders from vehicle makers, tier suppliers, LSPs and technology are prepared for the challenges ahead.

This session will look at market dynamics, opportunities and challenges for the CEE region’s production and logistics, including:

  • The economic trends driving automotive production and exports in the CEE region
  • What challenges exist to balance production and supply between EV / ICE models
  • What logistics and supply chain networks can do to connect logistics further
  • How the CEE can lead on the “green” supply chain, evolving towards CO2 neutral platforms

Come and discover here where Central and Eastern Europe’s automotive industry is really heading and how today’s logistics strategies and business models in the region need to adapt to stay in harmony with it.
