The UK-based OEM is pausing production on some lines for less than two weeks, which includes a prearranged plant shutdown for Easter holidays. Automotive Logistics understands that factory staff will be attending the site as usual, despite the shutdown. The parts challenge is reportedly affecting Range Rover and Range Rover Sport models.

In a statement, a JLR spokesperson told Automotive Logistics: “Due to a part supply challenge with a supplier, we are temporarily pausing production on certain vehicle lines at our Solihull manufacturing facility. We are working closely with that supplier to resolve the issue as quickly as possible and minimise any impact on our clients or our operations."

The temporary pause follows a month-long shutdown that hit the carmaker in August last year following a cyberattack. JLR’s UK operations including vehicle plants at Halewood and Solihull, its Wolverhampton engine facility and its Castle Bromwich parts plant, along with production facilities in Slovakia, China and India, were all affected. In its financial results, JLR reported that the attack cost around $1 billion in revenue loss.
