Red Sofa interview | Levent Yuksel on JLR’s push for greener corridors and industry-wide logistics collaboration

Levent Yuksel, freight operations director at JLR, joined the Automotive Logistics & Supply Chain Europe 2025 Red Sofa to discuss sustainability in inbound and vehicle logistics. He emphasised the importance of collaboration over competition, urging logistics providers, industry groups, and policymakers to work together to accelerate decarbonisation.

A key focus of the conversation was green corridors, with Yuksel highlighting a disconnect between regulatory frameworks and the real-world needs of logistics operators seeking to reduce emissions. While congestion reduction is a goal, he pointed out that more direct incentives and structured initiatives are needed to make sustainable freight corridors viable.

Yuksel also discussed case studies, particularly in France, where industry, energy providers, and governments are working together to subsidise green corridors. JLR is exploring how to expand this model across Europe, leveraging strategic alliances to align infrastructure, policy, and operational needs.

He called for greater alignment between regulatory policies and industry efforts, particularly around alternative fuels infrastructure, to create viable pathways for decarbonisation. His call to action was clear: the industry must come together to develop strategic, collaborative solutions that ensure sustainability and efficiency in logistics.

Automotive Logistics & Supply Chain Europe 2025 took place on 18-20 March at the Kameha Grand Bonn, Germany.
