Last night, Automotive Logistics & Supply Chain Mexico 2025 welcomed over 450 automotive leaders at the Marquis Reforma Hotel in Mexico City. Automotive Logistics’ chief content officer, Christopher Ludwig, took a moment away from the bustling Welcome Drinks Reception to give us a sneak peek into what’s in store over the next few days.

With a record turnout and a packed agenda, #ALSCMexico 2025 is once again proving to be the event for the sector — bringing together the people, ideas, and innovations shaping the future of automotive logistics across Mexico and North America.

“This conference is really all about what makes Mexico such a competitive supply center for North America and globally — and what will keep it that way,” Ludwig explained.

While Mexico continues to attract major investments and production growth, Ludwig noted that the industry is also facing a wave of new challenges, from tariffs and customs changes to labour rules and import restrictions that could threaten its competitive edge. Still, the message from the opening night was clear: the future remains bright for Mexico’s supply chain.

“There is so much we can do in logistics and supply chain to optimize, re-engineer and design operations to maintain that edge,” Ludwig said. “We’ll hear from OEMs like Volkswagen, General Motors, Nissan, BMW Group, and new entrants such as Chirey and Great Wall Motors on how they’re keeping supply chains lean, competitive and resilient.”

Throughout the event, sessions will explore three major themes shaping the sector:

  • Digitalisation and visibility to drive smarter, faster decision-making.

  • Flexibility and agility to react to disruption — whether it’s a new tariff, supplier shutdown, or sudden opportunity.

  • Partnership and collaboration as the foundation for long-term resilience and responsiveness.
