Wrapping up the third edition of Automotive Logistics & Supply Chain Digital Strategies North America, Christopher Ludwig, chief content officer at Automotive Logistics and Ultima Media, reflected on a final day packed with digital transformation, cross-functional integration and collaborative benchmarking.

Discussions throughout the day highlighted the industry's shift away from being reactive to macro disruptions, such as pandemic bottlenecks, semiconductor shortages and Red Sea challenges, towards building predictive and preventative supply chains. Central to this shift is the closer alignment of cost disciplines, supply chain IT, data management and supplier networks.

Day 2 highlighted this transformation in action with an opening keynote from Subhasish Roychoudhury, who is leading the technology transformation across Ford Motor Company's supply chain. Over the last three years, Ford has modernised its architecture by rolling out a cloud-based ERP backbone across plants, replacing and upgrading TMS across inbound and vehicle logistics, and connecting WMS platforms to drive predictive visibility.

“We're all about putting business together with IT, together with suppliers,” Ludwig said.  “And we heard those themes reinforced again and again.”
