Wrapping up the 26th annual Automotive Logistics & Supply Chain Global, Christopher Ludwig, chief content officer at Automotive Logistics & Ultima Media, reflected on three days of rich discussion, industry insight, and a clear message of resilience and forward momentum across North America’s finished vehicle logistics community.
Beyond the record turnout of over 1,000 delegates, Ludwig emphasised that the true success of the conference lay in the exceptional quality of connections, the depth of strategic discussions, and the collective commitment to turn insights into actionable transformation.
Addressing attendees against a backdrop of macro-level volatility, industry analysts outlined a near-term North American production outlook characterised by flat top-line volume growth paired with unprecedented operational complexity. With up to 60 major vehicle launches scheduled for 2028 alone, automotive logistics networks face intense pressure that demands holistic, end-to-end planning.
Day 2 featured key takeaways from industry leaders on driving supply chain resilience and performance. Ben Shain at Nissan North America highlighted embedding logistics considerations directly into early-phase program design to control total costs, while Nikki Logsdon, General Motors, emphasised 360-degree supplier alignment through shared scorecards. Nitin Sethi, Autoliv Americas, detailed building robust data governance to scale predictive AI, and Benjamin Pohl, Ford Motor Company, demonstrated yard optimisation strategies to streamline driver turnaround times and alleviate capacity constraints. Additionally, Hamza Uddin, Lucid Motors, shared insights on deep partner integration when scaling new global production sites, and an interactive student exchange connected senior executives with regional university talent to pave clear pathways for the future workforce.
"As much as this industry evolves, our mandate remains clear: we must continue working together with a total end-to-end perspective," Ludwig concluded.
