Speaking ahead of ALSC Global in Detroit, which DSV is sponsoring, Resetar notes that resilience remains a top priority for OEMs and suppliers facing ongoing disruptions, including tariffs and trade shifts. He points to the growing importance of data-driven analysis to identify inefficiencies and root causes, alongside route and port diversification to ensure supply continuity.
Resetar highlights a rising demand for localisation in contract logistics and final-mile services, with more customers seeking distribution and visibility solutions close to manufacturing sites and ports.
Following DSV’s acquisition of DB Schenker, Resetar stresses that the company is now leveraging its scale to support customers in new and expanding regions. He points to geographical shifts in automotive growth, including India, Northeast Africa, Morocco, Mexico, Southern Europe and Southeast Asia, where DSV is strengthening its presence through new offices, investments and local talent.
“We’re re-evaluating our regional strategies into a more localised approach, focusing on markets that are growing beyond the automotive normal,” Resetar explains.
He emphasises that this shift is structural rather than temporary, as global manufacturers rethink their sourcing and production networks for a more distributed future.
Resetar concludes by underlining DSV’s commitment to supporting its automotive customers through these transitions with a combination of scale, local expertise and resilient logistics solutions.
DSV's Frank Sobotka, CEO of the company's air and sea division, will be speaking at ALSC Global on 25 September on the panel 'Right part, right time, right cost: Optimising aftersales logistics' alongside experts from Mercedes-Benz, Stellantis and Rivian.
