Wrapping up the 16th annual Finished Vehicle Logistics North America, Christopher Ludwig, chief content officer at Automotive Logistics & Ultima Media, reflected on three days of rich discussion, industry insight and a clear message of resilience and forward momentum across North America’s finished vehicle logistics community.
Across the event, speakers emphasised that while the industry is facing unprecedented disruption, from cost pressures and capacity constraints to global trade volatility, the focus must remain firmly on recovery and long-term performance.
Leaders highlighted the importance of balancing cost with sustainability, ensuring that logistics partners remain viable while building more flexible, adaptive networks. Collaboration, data-sharing, and stronger partnerships were consistently identified as critical to navigating uncertainty and maintaining service levels.
Day 2 sessions also underscored the growing role of technology in driving performance, with OEMs advancing quality processes, automation, and real-time visibility across production, yard management, and distribution. These capabilities are enabling faster, more informed decision-making across increasingly complex supply chains.
Despite the challenges, the outlook remains pragmatic but optimistic. The message from across the conference was clear: the industry must not only respond to disruption, but actively prepare for recovery, ensuring capacity, strategy, and partnerships are ready to scale when demand returns.
“This is not a time to slow down—we need to move faster, together.”
