Paulina Chmielarz, manufacturing business office director at Jaguar Land Rover, is bringing her logistics and IT experience to the carmaker’s central production strategy, with a major focus on end-to-end perspectives in all production decisions and major upgrade of systems. She talks about how JLR has transitioned to a more flexible production planning based on prioritisation of supply and customers, and how the changing global landscape is impacting the carmaker’s vertical integration and make/buy decisions. She also looks ahead to what JLR’s upgrade in manufacturing and logistics systems will mean for its performance.
