Since last sitting down on the Red Sofa, Skotti Fietsam has been appointed CIO at Accuride. In this new role, she has responsibility for both the supply chain and information technology at the company, allowing her to offer invaluable insight into cross-functional interactions.

She shares how she sees digitalisation adoption changing: “Now with the reorganisation of our company, we want to stop looking backward and start moving forward. We spoke about the tools we could use, but I don’t want to start with technology. I want to start with the people, and the priorities, and the business needs, and then set the business cases… and then go out and find those tools that best satisfy those needs.”

She also points to the role of digital tools in compliance, explaining how Accuride is mapping out their supply chain. In doing so, there can be better flexibility in the face of a disruption, including tariffs – “that’s an immediate impact that we should be able to calculate in seconds.”
