Thorsten Sommer, head of information processes logistics at Volkswagen Group, emphasised the need to begin with manageable, defined projects in data management, such as plant-level or route-specific analysis. He outlined Volkswagen’s progress with master data strategy software and the Catena-X consortium, showcasing how today’s efforts lay the foundation for AI-driven predictive analytics.
JLR’s Paulina Chmielarz, Industrial Operations digital and innovation director, shared insights into JLR’s ongoing digital transformation, spotlighting user-focused systems like cloud-based ERP and product lifecycle management.
Ludwig highlighted the points raised by Tammo Hilgerloh, head of supply chain digitalisation at Schaeffler Technologies, who spoke about their transport ecosystem management tool driven by both top-down and grassroots innovation.
