Peter Koltai, senior director of Logistics, Volkswagen de México speaks to Christopher Ludwig, editor-in-chief, Automotive Logistics at ALSC Mexico about how to find synergies between plants and the wider VW Group.
Koltai talks about strengthening the group and its divisions through using digital technologies, working groups, and sharing best practices on the road to electrification.
He adds that the VW group works together to organise its inbound logistics, and a major consideration is border crossings. “We have expertise on both sides of the borders,” he says. “A big advantage is that if we have any problems in the US we can ask for help from our colleagues in America, and if they have any problems in Mexico it’s sometimes easier for us to help from the Mexican side.”
