Iveco contracts Ceva for PDC logistics in Brazil
Iveco has invested $17.4m in a parts distribution centre (PDC) in Brazil and contracted Ceva Logistics to manage the site.
The commercial vehicle maker said the 20,000 sq.m facility, being built in Pouso, in the state of Minas Gerais, will enhance speed, efficiency and accuracy in the supply of spare parts. It will replace the existing PDC in Sorocaba (São Paulo) because of capacity constraints at that location, according to Ceva.
The construction of the new PDC began in June this year with operations expected to begin in April 2026. It is equipped with a wireless warehouse management system (WMS) that Iveco said enabled traceability and real-time control of parts movements. Iveco said the PDC will help strengthen the Minas Gerais area as a strategic hub for national logistics and provide jobs.
Karel Novák, head of quality and operations in Latin America for Iveco Group, said: “The new PDC is foundational in our business expansion and to enhance speed and efficiency in customer supply. Ceva Logistics and Iveco share a common vision, and we believe this new distribution centre is a fundamental pillar to enable significant operational gains for Iveco Group, paving the way for future growth.”
A spokesperson for Ceva Logistics said this move marked "a strategic shift in Iveco’s aftermarket operations" and noted that "the new warehouse will handle [Iveco's] full portfolio of truck and bus spare parts, with CEVA responsible for comprehensive operations including kitting, receiving, packaging, inventory management and outbound logistics into the warehouse".
Smart warehouse management
Ceva Logistics will be responsible for managing the site, including the logistics infrastructure, shipping and handling of Iveco Group’s materials.
This latest business builds on Ceva’s expansion in contract warehousing operations in Brazil. The PDC increases the warehouse capacity that Ceva manages in the country, which has grown by 150,000 sq.m in the last 12 months, reaching nearly 300,000 sq.m across the country.
With an additional 120,000 sq.m to be added by the end of 2025 and another 200,000 sq.m planned for the following three years, Ceva will be responsible for 620,000 sq.m of contract logistics space for a range of industries across the region by 2028.
“This new agreement with Iveco Group reinforces our partnership and reflects Ceva’s commitment to operational excellence and innovation in Daniel Cortazzo, automotive sector leader director for Latam at Ceva Logistics, said: Brazil,” said. "The new Pouso Alegre Distribution Center will strengthen our strategic presence in the region and enable us to deliver even greater efficiency, agility, and service quality to Iveco Group’s growing operations in the region.”
