ZF restructures commercial vehicle aftermarket business in UK and Ireland
Tier one supplier ZF Friedrichshafen has restructured its commercial vehicle (CV) aftermarket division in the UK and Ireland, combining independent aftermarket (IAM) sales, service parts and fleet sales operations.
ZF said it aims to improve value and efficiency for its customers by bringing together the company’s full range of parts, technologies, and service solutions under one expert team, providing one point of contact, and a more simplified process.
That team is being led by David Wakeling, who is now manager of the entire CV sales and technical team encompassing IAM sales, fleet sales and service parts, and will manage all aspects of ZF’s commercial aftermarket vehicle offering. That covers the supply of service parts and services for the ZF, Lemförder, Sachs, TRW, Wabco, and Boge brands.
It also includes the ZF [pro] Service and ZF [pro] Academy support programmes. ZF [pro] Service provides the full range of CV spare parts, technical support and sales, as well as workshop services for fleet operators. It combines the previously separate ZF Service Point, ZF [pro] Tech (commercial vehicle variant) and Wabco Service Partner operations.
ZF [pro]Academy combines the training programmes of ZF Aftermarket and Wabco Academy in areas including driveline, chassis and brakes, as well as steering technology.
“The commercial vehicle sector demands speed, reliability, and expertise, and our new structure reflects exactly that,” said Wim Deckx, managing director, ZF Aftermarket UK&I. “By uniting our IAM, service parts, and fleet operations, we are creating a single, customer-focused team that can deliver the full strength of ZF’s aftermarket capability. This step ensures our partners receive faster support, clearer communication, and access to the complete ZF portfolio from one dedicated source.”
The reorganisation of the team at ZF includes the departure of James O’Gara, senior HCV sales manager, who the company said had played a key role in shaping the success of the ZF’s aftermarket operations. “Following the consolidation of leadership roles, James will be pursuing new opportunities outside of ZF,” the company said in a statement.
Next year sees the return of the Automotive Logistics and Supply Chain UK conference, which will take place at Mercedes-Benz World, Weybridge, between June 17-18. Stay posted for updates on conference agenda and speakers.
