BMW battery cell centre integrates engineering, purchasing and production to scale supply chain

BMW has opened a 15,000 sq.m pilot plant for battery cell production near Munich which is going to play a major role in its battery localisation strategy

BMW Group’s Cell Manufacturing Competence Centre (CMCC), in Parsdorf, near Munich, Germany, will produce cylindrical cells like those that will be used in BMW’s Gen6 batteries, which will power its upcoming Neue Klasse range of EVs from 2025 onwards.
