Jochen Thewes has been promoted to global CEO at German transport and logistics giant, DB Schenker. He moves from his role as CEO of the company’s Asia Pacific division. Ditlev Blicher (pictured) has moved into the role heading Asia Pacific from UTi Worldwide, where he was most recently president of Asia Pacific and Europe, co-president, Global Freight Forwarding and executive board member.

Ditlev_Blicher1Thewes, who brings more than 20 years of senior management experience in both regional and global positions has been with DB Schenker since 2010. The company said he had made significant contributions to the company in his role as CEO in Singapore heading the Asia/Pacific Region, which he has held since 2011. Prior to that he was senior vice president, Global Ocean Freight, based in the company’s head office in Essen, Germany.

Blicher has over a decade of experience based in Asia and from 9th May this year will oversee an extensive network of more than 400 locations covering 20 countries throughout Asia Pacific.
