Awarded to the finished vehicle logistics service provider startup or newcomer to the market which has emerged to make a substantial impact on the North American market and network. In choosing finalists, judges will consider the overall value, quality and service proposition of finished vehicle startups or newcomers throughout all or part of the past year. 

Judges will consider contributions of all types of startup or recent entrants across vehicle logistics services in North America. A startup or newcomer should be companies which are either developing new business models and services, or which have entered the North American market within the past three years. These can include but are not limited to:

  • New companies and entrants in IT, systems, technology, equipment providers or manufacturers which offer vehicle logistics services or products
  • New companies and entrants in road, rail, marine, port and yard logistics services
  • New companies and entrants non-asset/asset-light 3PLs, lead logistics providers or brokers

Judges Criteria

Judges will assess the FVL Startup Provider of the Year in considering the following criteria wherever applicable:

Ontime performance: How well startup or new providers match or exceed expectations in providing or contributing to vehicle logistics services ontime departures, arrivals, loading/unloading, handovers and transhipment, as well as updated, accurate ETA visibility

Damage prevention and repair quality: How well startup or new providers match or exceed expectations in providing or contributing to vehicle logistics services that eliminate or mitigate damage and insurance processes

Innovation: How well startup or new providers match or exceed expectations in providing in bringing innovations to vehicle logistics services, including but not limited to systems, visibility, processes, customer service, performance or sustainability

Customer service: How well startup or new providers matched or exceeded expectations in providing customer service in vehicle logistics, including flexibility and responsiveness

Value: How well startup or new providers match or exceed in offering the best value-for-money proposition in vehicle logistics
