InsideTrackDHL Supply Chain has secured a contract with Jaguar Land Rover to provide specialised vehicle movements around the world. The logistics provider’s automotive sales and marketing services business, Inside Track, will manage the movement of around 10,000 finished vehicles by rail, air and sea freight. The vehicles include those used for product launches, events and exhibitions, research and engineering tests, press and VIP or other specialist needs.

“We are delighted to have extended our logistics operations with Jaguar Land Rover, which dates back over 17 years,” said Bill Bacon, managing director, Automotive UK&I for DHL Supply Chain.  This is an exciting opportunity for us. We are committed to delivering a first class customer experience to the Jaguar Land Rover team. “

Bacon said that DHL would bring its expertise in managing 4PL transport along with Inside Track’s finished vehicle sales and marketing sector experience to manage the service. The company said it would dedicate a team of five people to the contract and use its IT platform to speed fulfillment times and provide accurate information on vehicle location.

The services provided by Inside Track include driver logistics, account management, integrated event management and procurement.

Earlier this year Inside Track renewed its contract with Ford for the management of its Fleet Demonstrator programme. Services provided as part of that contract include customer booking, delivery and collection, vehicle conditioning and fleet management.
