David Mayo has taken up a new role at pallet and container pooling provider, Chep, as vice president, Europe for Automotive and Industrial Solutions.

He moves from his previous role at Chep as director of market development in the Chep Equipment Pooling Systems division and will now be responsible for leading growth across the company’s European automotive business.

Mayo has been with Chep, which is owned by Brambles, since 2000 and has worked in a number of roles for the Equipment Pooling Systems division, starting with manager of operations and quality in Northern Europe for the automotive industry.

He also has almost 20 years of operations and logistics command experience in a variety of roles with the military.

Mayo’s move follows the announcement in October last year that Laurent Le Mercier has become senior vice president, Global Automotive at the company.
