Tyremaker Michelin has renewed its contract with Ceva Logistics for the management of its 25,000-square-metre tyre warehouse at the company’s Valladolid plant in Spain.

Under the three-year contract, Ceva will provide warehousing services, inventory management, picking and loading, as well as transport bound for Michelin customers, which include automotive manufacturers, spare part and maintenance companies.

The logistics provider will handle a range of tyres for luxury touring vehicles, agricultural vehicles and trucks, totaling more than 5m items per year.

“We are satisfied to have signed this partnership as we believe that the logistics operator will be able to guarantee highly efficient services which will allow us to optimize our supply chain processes with a consequent reduction in logistics cost,” said Fernando Tamames, logistics purchasing director of Michelin in Iberia.

Ceva works with Michelin in several other countries around the world including Thailand, where it handles the inbound movement of tyres from Michelin’s production plants into warehouse facilities at Laemchabang, Nongkea and Nongree.
