Neovia Logistics has announced a three-year contract win with Daimler in Canada, as well as a renewal of its contract with the carmaker in South Africa. The addition of the business in Canada brings the number of global facilities Neovia operates for the carmaker to eight. The value of the contracts was not disclosed.

In Canada the company will be providing operations services for Mercedes-Benz facilities in Toronto and Vancouver, including receiving, re/packaging, picking, location management, returns processing, and inventory scrapping/separation. Daimler was previously handling the Vancouver business in-house while the Toronto contract was previously held by Kuehne + Nagel.

In South Africa, meanwhile, the logistics provider has signed a second three-year contract to provide similar functions, again to Mercedes-Benz, at its facility in Johannesburg.

As well as the Canadian and South African facilities, Neovia provides services to Daimler in Australia, Singapore, Dubai, Egypt and Poland. It also provides real estate services for the carmaker in Mexico and, in the US, at Alabama and Jacksonville.

Neovia is the former logistics division of Caterpillar. The equipment maker sold a controlling share in the division of mergers and acquisitions specialist Platinum Equity in 2012.
