GM Europe’s division in the UK, Vauxhall Motors, has signed a three-year contract extension with transport and logistics provider Norbert Dentressangle for the overnight distribution of automotive parts to 300 UK Vauxhall and Chevrolet dealers.
The latest contract extension builds on a 12-year relationship between Vauxhall and Norbert Dentressangle for aftersales parts distribution in the UK and is supported by a £1m ($1.55m) investment by ND in 35 new trailers.

Under the contract, the logistics provider will collect orders from Vauxhall’s parts distribution centre in Luton for overnight delivery to retailers via its national shared-user network. This allows parts ordered by 6pm to be delivered before dealerships open at 8am the following day. Added value services include returns sortation and management, waste management, outbound loading, yard services and on site shunting.

Vauxhall and Chevrolet use Norbert Dentressangle’s online Shipment Handling and Reporting Program (SHARP), which ensures orders are processed immediately, allowing both companies to track deliveries using real time information.

Peter Durham, warehouse operations manager at Vauxhall Motors, said: “Norbert Dentressangle provides us with a flexible and proven transport solution that enables us to maintain a high level of service to our retailers. This combined with the a range of added value site services means we will continue to benefit from a reliable and cost effective parts distribution operation.”
