The Indonesian importer for Jaguar cars, PT Grandauto Dinamika (PT GAD), will also begin importing and distributing Land Rover vehicles to the country from the beginning of next year.

PT GAD, a joint venture between Wearnes Automotive group and Hadi Widjaja Tanaga, president of Premium Automobiles, has been importing Jaguars since 2000 but this is the first time volume shipments of Land Rovers have been made to the country. The company is now rebranding and renovating its current Jaguar facility in south Jakarta to accommodate the Land Rover models and will be investing in three new facilities across Jakarta “to ensure world class customer service and support” for both brands.

“Appointing PT GAD opens a new chapter in Jaguar Land Rover’s continued commitment to the Indonesian market for premium vehicles,” said David Blackball, managing director JLR Asia Pacific. “This is an important market for Jaguar Land Rover with strong growth potential.”

Andre Roy, group managing director at Wearnes Automotive, said: “We are delighted to be appointed as the new importer and distributor for Land Rover in Indonesia. Looking at the fantastic range of vehicles from Land Rover, such as the Evoque and All New Range Rover as well as future product plans, we are confident that we will be able to replicate the sales success we have enjoyed in Singapore, since we began importing Land Rovers in 2009.”

PT GAD is also an importer of Bentley vehicles to Indonesia.
