Russian Railways Logistics has appointed Petr Baskakov as its chairman for a second year. Baskakov is CEO of TransContainer.

Since 2003, Baskakov has been the head of TransContainer branch of OJSC Russian Railways and later OJSC TransContainer when it was formed as a joint stock company in 2006. 

He has more than 24 years of experience in the Russian rail industry, graduating from the Moscow Institute for Railway Transport Engineers in 1986 with a degree in the Management of Railway Transportation Processes.

Before joining TransContainer, Baskakov held management positions in the Podolsk Production and Railway Transportation Enterprise of the Federal Ministry of Transportation. 

Russian Railways Logistics was founded in 2010 to develop Russian Railways logistics business.
