Karin Schöner has taken up a new role as director of strategic development at Geodis Wilson in Brazil. She has moved from her role at Panalpina in the country where she was senior vice president and district manager central. She will remain based in São Paulo.

Schöner will be directly responsible for the Supply Chain Optimisation business, which includes 4PL activity and supply chain consulting, while also being closely involved with developments in the company’s other business units.

The move to Geodis was based on a combination of factors Schöner told Automotive Logistics. “First and foremost, I had a strong desire to broaden my experience and was looking for a company that would present new career challenges while allowing me to use my creativity,” she said, adding that this included a strong drive for innovation in combination with solid market knowhow. Schöner said that she was able to leverage her sales and customer service skills to significantly and immediately contribute to the business.

“Geodis is a company working in the same space as my prior experience, but with a unique style and approach that is refreshing and innovative,” she noted. “It is early days still, but my experience thus far confirms my decision to make a change to Geodis. The overall market reaction has also been extremely positive. I am excited about my future and the future of Geodis."
