Tom Jones, a long-time veteran in automotive logistics, has moved to Ceva Logistics as its new senior vice-president of automotive operations for North America.

Jones was most recently vice-president, sales national accounts at third party provider Palogix Supply Chain Services, but he spent 25 years at Ryder and was most recently senior vice-president of the company’s Supply Chain Solutions division, with responsibility for the company's automotive, high tech, retail and consumer packaged goods sectors.

In his new role at Ceva, Jones will lead the company’s automotive operations across North America and will be based from the company's Southfield office in Michigan.  He reports directly to Steve Gundlach, executive vice-president for contract logistics for North America.

"The opportunity to join a leading global logistics company with such a strong background across the automotive sector was very enticing,” said Jones.  “I am keen to focus on developing the innovative solutions we can create for our customers and combine that with the excellent operational base which is already in place."

Steve Gundlach added: "I am excited to have Tom, with all his considerable experience, join the Ceva team.  His skills and understanding of the automotive industry will be important to our continued success and leadership in the sector."

Jones has built up a wide-ranging knowledge of the logistics industry including the management of the flow of goods from acquisition to raw materials and the delivery of finished products for more than 100 top brand companies.
