Yusen Logistics division in the Benelux region has signed a contract with motorcycle and recreational vehicle maker, Yamaha Motor Europe, to run its parts distribution centre at Schiphol-Rijk, in the Netherlands. 

From January 1, 2014 the logistics provider will manage the 30,000-square metre facility, which has a storage capacity of 120,000 spare parts and handles 3,000 orders a day.

Yamaha’s decision to outsource the warehouse management is part of an effort to make its operation more efficient according to the company.

To enable the smooth transition of management operations, 69 employees of Yamaha will be employed by Yusen Logistics.
