DSV has begun the year with a number of executive changes at the top of its organisation. Jens Lund has taken over as group CEO at the Danish logistics provider from Jens Bjørn Andersen, and Brian Ejsing is appointed chief operations officer (COO).
Morten Landry has also been appointed new group chief commercial officer (CCO), taking over from Rene Falch Olesen, who will step down after more than 40 years with DSV (originally as part of DanTransport, which DSV bought in 2000).
Jens Lund took over as CEO from Andersen on February 1. Andersen had been CEO for 15 years but with the company for 35 years, following DSV’s takeover of Samson Transport in 1997. Lund moves from his position at DSV as group COO and vice-CEO into the role left by Andersen.
Thomas Plenborg, chairman of the board of directors of DSV, said: “Jens Bjørn Andersen has delivered incredible results and significant value for our shareholders since 2008, and on behalf of the board of directors, I would like to take the opportunity to, once again, thank Jens Bjørn for his contribution over the years.”
Brian Ejsing takes over the role of group COO from Lund. He has been CEO of the DSV Solutions division since 2012, having joined the company as a freight forwarder back in 1986. He held senior management roles in DSV’s Road and Solutions divisions over that time.
As of February 1, 2024, the DSV executive board now consists of Lund, Ejsing and chief financial officer (CFO), Michael Ebbe.
Further appointments have also been announced at the top of DSV Solutions and DSV Air & Sea.
Replacing Ejsing as CEO of DSV Solutions is Albert-Derk Bruin, who moves from his role in the division as executive vice-president for business strategy, excellence and change management. He joined DSV in 2010 and has been part of the division’s executive management team since 2019.
From May 1 this year Frank Sobotka will take over as CEO of the DSV Air & Sea division, replacing Carsten Trolle who has decided to step down after more than 39 years with DSV and nine years in charge of the Air & Sea division. The company said that Trolle will continue to support the group with strategic projects.
Sobotka joined DSV 14 years ago and currently holds the position of managing director, Air & Sea Germany, as well as being executive vice-president for central eastern and southern Europe. Sobotka brings 34 years of experience in the logistics industry to the new role.
“I welcome Brian Ejsing as Group COO and a strong addition to our executive board,” said Lund. “Brian has an outstanding track record in DSV and will now take over the responsibility for the continued optimisation of our processes and global network. At the same time, I would also like to congratulate Frank, Albert-Derk and Morten on their new responsibilities. I look forward to our cooperation and to continuing the growth and development of our company.”
