BMW has awarded CAT Group with its Golden Award for World Best Distribution Centres at its annual world meeting of regional BMW spare parts warehouse managers held in Munich recently.

The award recognised two of CAT’s facilities – at Tigery, France, a BMW-dedicated warehouse, and at Duchnice in Poland, which also serves Scania and Hyundai.

“We are really proud of this award, which comes on top of our work in France for six years as logistic provider of parts and motorcycles for BMW, and as a new contract of six years is currently running, till 2015," CAT Group’s head of cargo logistics, Stephane Bonnard told Automotive Logistics News.

The 17,000m2 Tigery site, which is just south of Paris, handles 9,000 line items and dispatches to 250 passenger vehicle and motorcycle dealers throughout France.

Duchnice, meanwhile, dispatches 2,100 lines to 40 vehicle and motorcycle dealers in Poland.
