Ceva Logistics begun operations at Fiat’s local distribution centre in Duisburg, Germany, where it will handle all warehousing and spare-parts supply to the northwest region, and to Denmark and the Netherlands.

The facility, which has 13,000m2 of storage space and plans to hold a stock of around 30,000 parts, is located at Duisburg’s Logport logistics hub on the Rhine and guarantees same-day delivery within a radius of 90km. Beyond this, Ceva will hit next-day delivery targets.

The company already supports Fiat activity in Italy and South America.

Ceva has also renewed its contract with Volkswagen in the UK for the national distribution of replacement vehicle parts, as well as warehousing and commercial contracts there.

The company has worked with VW in the UK for 22 years (including under its previous guise as TNT Logistics). It delivers to 850 Volkswagen Passenger Car, Audi, Škoda, Seat and VW Commercial Vehicle dealerships and trade parts specialists nationwide.

Meanwhile, in Turkey the company has been awarded the 2008 Best Employer Award following a study at the end of last year made by Hewitt Associates, which looked at three motivational categories at 43 companies working in the country. The categories were: the ability to improve the human resources; senior managers' leadership; and promotion activities, providing an attractive personalised career for every employee.
