Japanese component supplier Denso Corporation has strengthened the distribution of aftermarket components in Europe with the purchase at the beginning of June of CTR, a distributor of automotive climate control components with locations in Italy, Spain and France.

CTR was a subsidiary of Finber, a European-based company that makes automotive components and other products, but will now be a fully-owned subsidiary of Italian-based Denso Thermal Systems.

"We believe that CTR and the aftermarket business unit of Denso Thermal Systems will complement each other's existing products and distribution networks," said Akio Shikamura, managing officer responsible for Denso's Thermal Systems Business Group. "With this advantage, Denso aims to expand the group business and diversify its thermal aftermarket product portfolio."

CTR offers a wide range of products and equipment including its own climate control components, such as compressors, HVAC components and heat exchangers.

In Italy, its distribution and service network provides dealers with next morning delivery of parts as well as various in-depth technical training programmes.

The purchase of CTR complements the Denso’s development and manufacture of automotive engine cooling and climate control systems, along with other thermal products.
