Ceva Logistics has signed a two-year extension to its contract with Renault in Brazil for the receipt, storage and consolidation of parts for export to France, Argentina, Mexico, Romania, Colombia and South America.

Ceva is dedicating a 4,000-square metre area at its site in São José dos Pinhais, Parana, for the annual shipment of more than 240,000-cubic metres of parts.

Ceva's business development manager for the Automotive division in Brazil, Mauricio Leonel, said the renewal of this contract was down to the company's superior supply chain management methods which are focused on driving flawless execution, as well as a motivated, dedicated team. "Our ability to offer Renault a solution that has the potential to increase their productivity has helped reinforce Ceva's leadership in the automotive sector in Brazil," said Leonel.

According to Claudemir Bozza, Renault's operations manager in Brazil, the contract renewal is testament to Ceva's commitment to delivering quality service.

CEVA is the only one of Renault's logistics providers to receive the UET certification - Unity Station of Work. The document certifies that Ceva has implemented a management tool that standardises the operation of a particular activity in relation to the production of goods and services, and was granted by Renault after an extensive audit.

"The handling and storage of the products require special care and expertise, and this is why we have entrusted Ceva to continue running our operations, as well as awarding the logistics operator the UET Certification for excellence in quality service provision," explained Claudemir.

Renault and Ceva have been working together in Brazil since 2002, where Ceva provides a range of different supply chain solutions that include key partnerships in France, Spain, Italy and Argentina.

In other news, Ceva has also signed a five-year contract with Nasser Bin Abdullatif Alserkal, one of the biggest importers and distributors of major tyre brands in the United Arab Emirates.

The company will manage all of Alserkal's outbound logistics and tyre distribution across the region, which will be managed from an 8,000 square metre space in Ceva's site in the Jebel Ali Free Zone, Dubai.
