Rolf Group subsidiary Rycom has opened the first official car dealership in Tajikistan for Mitsubishi and is supporting it with a new distribution business in the country.

Rycom, which is also the official distributor of Mitsubishi vehicles in Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, is feeding the new Tajik business along its New Silk Way route via China. The route is claimed to reduce delivery time by 80 days more than the traditional passage via Finland and Russia.

Rycom signed a distributor agreement with Mitsubishi Motors in July 2008. Situated in the capital, Dushanbe, the 5,300m2 dealership will focus on selling the full range of Mitsubishi models and offer a comprehensive after-sales service.

The new business in Tajikistan follows the opening in December of a 26,000m2 specialist automotive warehouse in Tomilino Russia by Rolf SCS, the group’s finished vehicle and spare parts division. The warehouse will initially hold spare parts and accessories for 12 brands but is flexible enough to allow other automotive-related businesses to take on and manage their own space with 10,000m2 available for that purpose.
