Toyota Logistics Services, the North American logistics division of Toyota, has revealed the winners of its US logistics partners awards for performance in 2009 with NYK Line taking three of the awards and Norfolk Southern once again taking the President’s Award for overall logistics excellence in the rail category.
 
NYK Line also took a President’s Award for import marine excellence as well as both categories for Outstanding Achievement for import and export marine.
 
Commenting on Norfolk Southern’s award, group vice president for automotive, Richard Kiley said: “Norfolk Southern is proud to have been a strong logistics partner with Toyota for more than two decades. We remain committed to continue meeting Toyota’s high standards for excellence by providing safe, damage-free, on-time service.”
 
Norfolk Southern transported approximately half a million Toyota vehicles in 2009, including those originating from Norfolk Southern-served plants in Georgetown, Kentucky, and Lafayette and Princeton in Indiana.
