Automotive surveying specialist UniCar Group has secured a contract with Seat for quality inspection at its Matorell plant near Barcelona, Spain. It will also carry out audit work across the carmaker’s wider European network.
 
“The scope of work is to perform car inspection audits at Martorell factory on behalf of SEAT Logistic, and also to perform quality audits on the logistic suppliers in Europe,” Unicar Group’s Managing Director Eric Imiola told Automotive Logistics.
 
UniCar’s surveyors inspect vehicles along the supply chain from the factory to dealer delivery.
 
The factory surveys at Martorell will be performed by UniCar Spain, while the transport audits will be carried out by UniCar´s European network, including terminal and port activity.
 
Seat’s rail provider Autometro delivered 63,305 vehicles from the Martorell plant to the nearby Port of Barcelona last year. Read more here
 
UniCar has also recently opened two new offices  – one in Hanko, Finland and one in Durban, South Africa. In Finland the company has taken over fellow automobile survey company Hangö Kontroll. UniCar Finland will cover the domestic market there as well as extending activity in Russia.
