UK automotive logistics provider Acumen Automotive Logistics has added two more DAF LF curtainsided rigids to its fleet of 20 enclosed car transporters.

One of the new trucks will be based at the company’s operating centre in Coventry, with the other at its depot in Farnborough.

Acumen says it has been updating its enclosed car transporters over the past two years in line with increased business. The trucks are used to transport prestige, commercially sensitive and specialist vehicles throughout the UK and Europe.

“These new vehicles will allow us to provide our expanding customer base for enclosed car delivery services with even greater flexibility,” said Peter Raybould, director of Acumen Automotive Logistics.

The new LFs, which can carry two vehicles apiece and cost a total of around £150,000, will be used mainly for corporate deliveries, according to an Acumen spokesperson, who added that further vehicles were expected to be added next year.

Last November, Acumen took delivery of 25 Mercedes-Benz Actros tractor units to support growth in its inbound business. The investment increased the number of tractor units specifically engaged in moving inbound parts for the automotive industry to 40.
